The Washington Arts Group is holding a convocation titled, “Jumping Out of the Self-Referential Box: Certainties & Adventures for the Arts in the 21st Century.” WAG is a Washington, D.C. based group founded in 1977 to encourage professionalism in the arts according to spiritual values and striving for artistic integrity.
I found out about the conference through Second Spring. A friend, Stratford Caldecott, will be presenting, as well many other promising faith and culture speakers:
- Dr. Tom Howard, highly acclaimed scholar and speaker
- Joseph Pearce, author of “Literary Converts” & Ave Marie College writer in residence
- Gregory Wolfe, co-founder of Image Journal & writer in residence at Seattle Pacific University (my Alma Mater)
- And many more…
It promises to be a dynamic and inspiring event. We’ll be sure to report on the events of the conference and forthcoming fruits.

Thanks for the heads up on this. Thomas Howard martials the best working vocabulary of anyone I’ve ever heard.
